The Winning Ticket
A local foundation that deals with a major university had a fundraiser about one month ago. As part of this fundraiser, the foundation sold tickets for a raffle for $20. I felt as though the foundation deserved the money, and I wasn’t too concerned about the prize or when the drawing would be held. Then, out of the blue, I received a phone call from someone at the foundation. I had won the grand prize, which was a trip to Barcelona. I couldn’t believe my luck. For the most part, I’ve never won anything in my entire life. So imagine my shock when they said I won. As part of the prize package, I’ve received two round-trip plane tickets to Spain, as well as three-night stays at two different Barcelona hotels. In addition, we get a tour package and several dinners at some of the top restaurants in Barcelona. My husband and I can’t wait to take our trip. Maybe I should consider buying raffle tickets from this point forward.
