A bed and breakfast is a viable option to staying in hotels and motels. More travelers are finding bed and breakfasts a more cost effective but more comfortable means of accommodation. The British started this type of accommodations for travelers wherein private homes were opened to travelers who needed an affordable place to stay the night.
These days bed and breakfasts are still more affordable than hotels but a few specialized B & Bs cater to the high end market. These places are equipped with features any big hotel chain can offer in a much smaller scale. The bed and breakfast industry has come a long way from English cottage rooms for rent.
