My son has been playing Magic the Gathering with his friends for about six months now.  He has asked for an increase in his allowance twice since he started playing so he is able to buy more of those booster packs.  I asked him why he buys the booster packs and he told me he needs to find the cards he needs.  He gets a lot of cards he already has in the booster packs, which seems like a waste.  I started looking online and found that there are plenty of MTG cards for sale on a website I found.  I showed the site to my son and he has found most of the cards he needs without buying unnecessary cards.
