With hip hop becoming a main staple of music not only in the US, but across the world there are a lot of opportunities for the up and coming hip hop artist.

The underground hip hop scene is so vast that it is simply not possible to mention them all. However, I can give some advice on catching some rising stars before they make it big.

Check out your local scene. It is impossible to make it to every major city once a month to catch a good local show. However, focus on your region and get out there. If you lived in Baltimore about 3 years ago you could have caught new (and still somewhat underground) sensation Spank Rock.

So get into it. There is a lot of talent across the country. Swing by your local record shop and pick up some flyers to look for potentially good shows.
