How to read guitar tabs doesn’t mean you know how to play
I’m always a little amused when I see complete beginners pick up a guitar and immediately want to know how to read guitar tabs. They think that just by learning tablature they’re going to be able to go out and get a lead guitar gig in a band or something. That’s not really the case. Yes, guitar tabs are a quick way to get a feel for a song, but you need to learn how to read music to really be able to play.
