Modern taps have been designed to go with the popular contemporary bathroom suites. Single mixer taps are central to many new ranges but the more traditional hot and cold taps are still produced in many ranges. To get a consistent look across the bathroom, basin and bath taps are normally produced in both ranges. The modern taps are almost all completed off in chrome finishes, although gold and brushed nickel effects are popular with many people as well.  Modern taps also show a glimpse of the future with curved designers deliberately made not to look like bathroom taps; in fact the taps look more like modern sculptures than a bathroom faucet.
