My neighbor, who is an animal trainer, is very interesting to watch. The other day, he was training police dogs using dog leads. He had different kinds of dog leads — basically, slip leads and regular ones you hook onto the collar. My neighbor was small while the dogs were, to be frank, humongous! Every time he’d bend to slip on the dog leads on his police dogs, they would duck out of reach. He practically had to lasso the dog leads on them at the beginning. He had unbounded patience, though. With dog leads on, he’d walk the dog back and forth, day after day after day. Within a week, the dogs’ behavior improved so much that he didn’t even have to bend to latch on the dog leads. Great change, indeed.
