Over Half Of All Women Suffer From Acne In Their Twenties
About two thirds of teenagers will experience common or comedonal acne to a greater or lesser degree and acne tends to last longer in girls and frequently persists through into adulthood. Then, as women enter their twenties and the menstrual cycle comes into play, the hormonal changes which accompany the menstrual cycle can, and often do, produce at least a mid form of acne. Because menstruation runs on a monthly cycle, acne also tends to follow the same pattern and, for about two in every three women, tends to be at its worst in the week before the onset of flow. In many cases this problem persists for as long as periods continue and over fifty percent of women suffer from acne in their twenties.
