omega 3 fatty acids

Omega-3, 6 and 9 are essential fatty acids that the body needs for optimal performance. Our bodies can make Omega-9 on its own, but not the other two Omegas. You cannot manufacture your own Omega-3 and Omega-6 so you will have to make sure your diet includes plenty of both. There are many foods that are high in omega 3 fatty acids, like fatty fish such as salmon. And you can get Omega-6 in thinks like cooking oils. Unfortunately, many of our processed foods are already high in Omega-6. Unless you eat a lot of fish, you are not getting all the Omega-3 that your body requires. The balance of Omega-3:Omega-6 should be in a 1:1 ratio, however with our diets the ratio is more like 1:20 or 1:40.

One of the best ways to equalize the balance is to supplement your diet with Omega-3 capsules.
