Research on Genetics and diabetic foot ulcers
Genetics and diabetic foot ulcers are a promising area of research. Genetic explanations are being found for so many different conditions that occur in humans. As more genetic testing is done and the tests become more sensitive so much more is being explained. A recent study published in a British Surgery Journal did genetic testing in 70 people. Those individual have ulcers of the foot in people with diabetes found that the AG genotype was related to the severity of the foot ulcer and if they needed an amputation if the ulcer would not heal.
