In my home, and in many of my younger clients, the modern bedroom packages seem to be the most popular. I love the squareness and the simplicity of it. The down close to the ground design is the best thing for people like me who hate to have to climb up to get into a bed. Or to jump down off of it to get to the floor. It makes even a small room look bigger as well. I have a dark wood with a light pink in my own home which seems to be a pretty popular combination seeing as how I have done it for about four dozen other homes.

When I came to install a new boiler last year I really did not know which model to choose, because there were so many on the market that it was really quite perplexing. But after I spoke to a friend I decided that the best thing I could do was to choose a Glow Worm Boiler, because I had heard that they are really good at keeping the house very warm. Now that I have had it installed for just a few months I can see that they are absolutely brilliant at keeping the house warm and I would really not be without my boiler for anything in the world.

Home security is important to all of us and we want the very best for our investment.   Some may think they are better off buying cheap home security cameras but in the long run it might cost more to go on the cheap.  Instead you might consider buying fewer cameras and getting better ones for the places where they are needed.  The most common places for needed surveillance is the entry or access points.   Make sure that the cameras are visible and out of reach.  Many times just knowing that surveillance is in effect will be enough to keep would be intruders away from your home.

Bloomington, Indiana is a great place to visit. It has a number of things to do, including the opportunity to learn all about world cultures at the Mathers Museum of World Cultures, located at Indiana University. With more than 20,000 items and an additional 10,000 photographs, the museum has a lot to offer. You can learn about all of the major cultures in the world all without ever having to leave the museum! In the African Collection, you can view nearly 3,000 artifacts and items from many different countries in Africa. Some of the items you can see are masks, textiles, and musical instruments. In the Latin American collections area of the museum, you will get to view more than 3,000 artifacts from Peru, Columbia, and Mexico. Some of the items you can see are paintings and folk art. Many different Asian cultures are represented in the Asian Collection. You will be able to see a variety of different items from countries like the Philippines, Peru, Japan, and Tibet. Everyone who has an interest in world cultures will want to take a trip to the museum. It is a great place to spend several hours, learning and having a great time.

Are you aware that you can increase the value of your home by simply remodeling your bathroom? Yes, it is true, by performing some upgrades, you can increase the market value of your home. Most people know there are dog training products like pads for house training, collars for control, muzzles to keep dogs from biting, but what is out there for specialized training?  After doing a little bit of research, I found that there really are training products for everything you can imagine.  In the past hunting dogs learned by experience.  Often new dogs would learn a little from man-made props, but most of the learning came from running with a pack of experienced dogs.  Now instead of practicing on something home-made, you can buy soft-mouth trainers for birding dogs and you can buy launchers especially to launch bird bodies to teach the dogs to track.  There are even remotely controlled bird calls to teach your dog on certain sounds so that it flushes out the right prey.  I  have not had the opportunity to try them myself, but I am certain that they would prove a valuable addition when training a new pack. 

When remodeling your home, bathroom designs can be tricky.  You want this and you want that, but your space may not have the room for all the things you want.  You might have to compromise on some items.  For instance, if you want the shower, tub and double sink, but only have room for the double sink, or the shower and tub, you need to decide which is more important to you.  There are so many different designs that allow for space saving. Sometimes it is only a matter of reorganizing and you may find you do have the space for both.  Just weigh your options carefully because when you finish remodeling, you are kind of stuck with your finished product for a while.

Trying to afford an apartment these days is almost impossible for an individual person under the best of circumstances. It’s even harder for students so they tend to cluster and share expenses.

My daughter is sharing a 3 bedroom apartment with friends from college. There were not enough dorm rooms for students. Some have had to live off campus as a result. This can present with unique challenges such as a non-functioning refrigerator.

This we handled by purchasing one of the many frost free small refrigerators for her room. It also helps her to keep track of her food so that it doesn’t so easily become “community property”. We were able to find a reasonably priced one that fit nicely in to her sliding door closet. Out of sight is out of mind ! Not always a bad thing.

The other students have decided that they too need a similar appliance. The old apartment refrigerator now holds things that need to be cool but not necessarily cold. Candy bars are like that.

Some of the best features in a house are the lights contained in it.  Lights do not only make things clear and visible, but as well as provide a sense of “life” to the whole house environment.  The lights can be sourced from any part of the house so long as the electrical devices connecting it are safe.   Light can be for decorating purposes as well such as hanging lamps and table lamps.  Once a lighting material is already made for decorations, it can be considered furniture already.  Fixtures that help beautify the household can be called furniture.  Still the same, the most important thing with lights is safety from accidents such as fire.            

When looking for our last fence we knew that we needed some features. We wanted to have a privacy fence. I like the feeling of privacy in my back yard. We wanted a fence that would look nice, and would give a unique feel to our back yard.

So when my husband suggested a bamboo fence it caught my eye. I was happy to find cheap bamboo fencing. I honestly thought that the fence would be very expensive because of the fact that it is so unique. I was very happily surprised to find out that the fence was going to be in our price range

My husband & I knew we were getting married; we just seemed to have a hard time picking a date.  I didn’t want to get married in June because that was my parents’ anniversary month.  And I certainly didn’t want to get married in the months we  been married previously.  I dithered and dithered, until finally my husband suggested January.  Of course this was in October, but we were up to the challenge.  Although the wedding was small, the effect was magical.  We had strung fairy wedding lights on the ceiling and walls of the church and reception hall next door, creating our own fairyland of love,

I just watched an episode of 60 minute makeover and, good god, where do they dig these people up?! From the overpriced wingback chairs to the woman bleating on about a chesterfield sofa being beautiful (you can watch the episode by clicking the link) the whole thing set my teeth on edge. When you’re having trouble putting food in your kid’s mouths the last thing you need to see is a bunch of rich idiots fawning over expensive furniture they don’t need, in houses that don’t need a makeover.

How about the producers come round and give our council flat a 60 minute makeover? They can start by getting rid of the mould the man from the council can’t seem to shift, and if there’s time left over a replacement for our old sofa with wire springs poking it would be very nice indeed!

Redecorating my home has been so much fun, and I am going to be sad when I am finally done. My family is Italian, so I have been doing a traditional theme with all of the old furniture and decorations that my grandmother had in her home. Of course, I am adding my own touches as well. The main things left on my list that I need to find are Italian planters. I have some great flowers that I want to put in them, but I have not found any in the stores nearby. I would like some suggestions and recommendations!
