I had the guitar out some this week and it occurred to me that not a single song that I play is newer than twenty-five years old, and most are quite a bit older than that. I’m not sure how this happened. It’s not that I’m an “old music is better” type person. I think it’s just that I stopped playing in public a long time ago and haven’t had a reason to work up anything new.

So, I decided I’m going to work on some new songs this week, just for the fun of it. Haven’t picked anything yet. I may just look at the charts or top downloads at iTunes and see if there’s anything I can adapt for acoustic. Kind of excited about it, even if I never play them for anybody but myself.
