Taxes are the lifeblood of the government. It allows them to pay for nationalized healthcare and many other government run programs. Unfortunately, it is the rich that must pay majority of taxes while the middle class pays some and the lower class pays almost nothing. Our tax money also goes towards welfare to help lazy people feeding off the system until recently. Now welfare is much more regulated and harder to get unless you really can not work. All this being said I live in Florida where their is no state income income Tax and this is one of the greatest gifts to the citizen. It gives me more money in my pocket rather than giving it to pork barrel spenders.
