There are Foundations and Agencies that are dedicated to providing a common good for society by helping businesses and individuals with free small business cash grants. Foundations award grants to businesses that are able to help the foundation reach its long-term goals. In the United States there are more than 65,000 private grant foundations which award more than $20 billion to applicants. These are different than the free government business grants that the federal government awards to businesses and individuals. Government grants use taxpayer money to provide the grant money while private foundations provide the money from their profits and/or endowments that are specifically set aside for this purpose.
