Bad Time to Start a Restaurant

My partner and I have been getting together at odd times and days to plan our business. We both have full time jobs in different restaurants and we have been busy designing our own restaurant and slowly getting things together. We have noticed though that in our respective restaurants that we work in, the economy has really taken a hit to the business. I want to start a restaurant business and start working for myself but I am really afraid that with the economy like this it is a bad time to launch out on our own. Perhaps we should stay in our current locations for awhile.
