 I have been in a wheelchair for over fifteen years.  I was injured in a terrible car accident and feel fortunate to be alive.  I have adapted to life in a wheelchair reasonably well.  I am able to take care of myself and and pretty independent.  My husband always drove us anywhere that we needed to go and was a great help to me.  When he died last year I was absolutely devastated.  After I got over the shock of losing him I began to realize how much I depended on him.  My daughter convinced me to buy a wheelchair vehicle so I could start doing all the things I had done before  That was a great decision.
