Many business wners ask why they should set up a merchant account. They wonder what the advantages are. A merchant account allows you to accept credit cards. In this day and age, many people use credit and debit cards to make purchases. Some people have their payroll checks directly deposited into their checking accounts. It is more convenient for them to swipe their debit card than it is to write out a check or make a withdrawl and purchase a money order. If you are unable to accept credit cards, chances are you will have to, at some point, turn a customer away. That customer will buy from your competition instead of buying from you.
