When I first heard about replicaswordshop.com, I wasn’t exactly envisioning fencing swords being part of their inventory. Instead, I was thinking of the sort of fancy decorative swords you would see today in mall knife and collectibles shops. After all, it is a replica sword shop, right?

But then I visitedthem, and discovered that they carry swords for fencing, too. Somehow, the things they use in fencing - foils, epees,etc - (I hope I got that right!) don’t seem like swords. The word “sword” seems to describe a lot of types of edged weapon, but not the fencing ones. I suppose that’s because fencing does not use edged or pointed weapons anymore.
