Buying Our Own Alexandria Doumbek
I know that not a lot of people know what an Alexandria doumbek is. Even those that attend belly dance classes do not know what it is. It is actually called the belly-dancing drum and commonly used to produce the sounds needed in belly dancing. My sister and I love to go belly dancing, so we decided to purchase our very own drum. We do not know how to play it, but our father does. So whenever he has extra time, he makes it a point to play the drum while we practice our dance. The drum looks so fantastic that it also serves as an additional attraction when we are not using it.
